Integrated Sustainable Building Design International Competition An international competition offered by ASHRAE for the three most innovative and sustainable projects to reduce global warming potential and carbon emissions according to the owners’ requirements.
Chicago, USA 2018

  • Analyzed the site’s environment, redesigned the high-performance commercial building using Revit.
  • Developed the building energy model using SketchUp and validated the energy model using EnergyPlus.
  • Applied renewable energy efficiency measures to reduce the global warming potential.
  • Reduced energy use by 55%. Produced Renewable energy, 89% (wind turbines) and 5% from solar panels.
  • Won internationally for the second-best innovative and sustainable project.

Airflow, Airtightness and Infiltration Rate Model
An international competition offered by the International Conference on Architectural,
Civil and Environmental Engineering for airflow and energy efficiency studies to lower greenhouse gas emissions.

London, UK 2020

  • Developed the KSA housing stock architypes to be statistically representative using Excel.
  • Produced an airflow rate model to calculate the infiltration rates of the housing stock utilizing MATLAB.
  • Established the first study in the KSA to predict buildings’ infiltration rates and heat loss.
  • The ex-infiltration of the KSA housing stock is responsible for 40 TWh of heat gains.
Won internationally for the best presented project.
